Tulum

Tulum, Mexico. Within the past year, it has seemed to be the talk of the town. The picture perfect beaches, the warm waters, and the exotic resorts. It is also quite the yoga town (although I wouldn’t consider my unathletic self the yoga type…)

As I had a craving for adventure and a brand new passport to fill the pages of, Tulum popped up as the perfect destination to relax and breathe.

The closest airport is Cancun, and from there it’s about a 90 minute drive to the town of Tulum.

Things I loved:

Riding a bike down the one main street of Tulum. Pretty much the entire town can be seen from one main street that spans from the south to the north of the city. Stop and look at some of the shops (there were so many with huge macrame hangings), restaurants, and resorts!

The beautiful resorts that have beachfront views with daybeds and restaurants. Time will stand still as you soak in its untouched beauty.

There are beach clubs whose soul purpose is for you to lay on the chairs and beds while ordering a drink (or two). They make sure their water and the sands are in tip-top condition cleaning out any seaweed that may make its way to their beaches.

The people! Everyone was so friendly and nice. It was so awesome how diverse the crowd was and how everyone becomes friends. There were people from Germany, America, and other countries all within a small proximity.

And as a true foodie, I must say that the all-inclusive life is THE life! I greatly enjoyed the never-ending food, room service, and drinks!

I would definitely recommend staying for more than 2 days, as it is quite the distance being a drive away from the airport. And yes, already wanting to go back and explore more of the town.

poolside essentials.

Hello friends,

Now that it’s officially beach/pool/water weather… I am soaking up all the sun before my highly anticipated summer vacations! In the meantime, you can find me posted next to the pool.

I’ve put together a few of my poolside favorite essentials for the summer. Here they are:

  1. Books: I have always been a bookworm, but adult-ing makes it hard to squeeze in time to read books. I am trying my best to add that to my life, as I know I feel so much more accomplished finishing a book than I do a tv show 🙂

I was sent the new book, Oola For Women, which will be released this Monday, May 2nd! This book is super motivational and applicable to all women, and looks at 7 key areas to help you better your life: Fitness, Finance, Family, Field, Faith, Friends, & Fun. I love how each chapter focuses on a key area and is written in an easy-to-read style. It’s also filled with lots of #girlboss quotes to help you step it up no matter where you are in your journey of life. You can find it on Amazon as well as here.

  2. Floaties: Okay..how fun are all the different shaped floats that have been coming out this season? I don’t know about you..but kids these days have the coolest inflatables!

I am SO obsessed with this pizza floatie! I’m pretty sure we just had normal ring ones when I was a kid. Just because I am now a…biggER kid.. does not mean I will miss out on this fun-ness! Give me all the food-shaped floaties please and thank you!

  3. Sunscreen: SPF umm..100? 🙂 Skin care is so important no matter the time of the year. Protect yoself!
