abbot kinney

Hi loves!

Fall is here (although it’s still SUPER HOT HERE aka 90s in SoCal) and the holiday season will be here before we know it. The last quarter of the year always goes by as fast as a blink!

I finally got the chance to explore Abbot Kinney, which is every artsy coffee lover’s DREAM! Even though LA is only an hour away I tend to rarely go and avoid it as much as possible. So after wanting to visit this place for over a year I finally made it to spend more time exploring it.

Dessert and coffee crawls are what I would totally recommend doing here! For dessert, you have options like the Portland renowned Salt & Straw, Blue Star Donuts, pastries from Mr. Holmes sold inside of Intelligentsia to name a few.

If you’re going to Salt & Straw on a warm day, expect a wait! We waited 30+ minutes as the line wrapped around the building. My tastebuds were SOO satisfied though. I am obsessed with their Stumptown coffee flavor as well as the Toffee Crunch.

For coffee, there is the Tom’s Roastery, Blue Bottle, and Intelligentsia all within steps of each other. Caffeine high say whaaaaaa?!

The Tom’s Roastery was SO STINKIN’ cute. This was one of the main reasons I wanted to visit. It also serves as their flagship store, and they have all of the new items that you can’t even buy online available for purchase and to try on! I may have fell in love with one or two pairs of shoes as I sipped my spicy mocha.

From cute boutiques to good food, I also loved all the artwork on walls all around the street. Obviously I couldn’t leave without getting my wings shot.

Continuously exploring, till the next time…

Must-Eats & Most Instagrammable Places in Portland!

Most instagrammable places in.png

Hello friends,

Portland has been a place I had heard so much about and knew I needed to experience the culture and all that good food for myself. It also seems to be the spot that all the foodies/instagrammers are flocking to.

If you’re looking for a good list of places to go, look no further! Here are the places that I had a chance to go to and recommend:

Coffee:

  • Good Coffee

Hint: go during the day. Think.. perfect lighting. So. Much. Aesthetic.

  •  Case Study Coffee

Located in the heart of downtown. I loved the feel inside and my mocha was sooo good.

Desserts
:

  • Blue Star Donuts

The flavors are so interesting but it works in their favor!  I got the passion fruit with cayenne pepper and cocoa nibs.. omg. Spicy, sweet, and perfection! There’s also a location at the airport if you run out of time.

  • Salt and Straw

Get the flight. You won’t regret it. Because.. one flavor isn’t enough 🙂

  • Wiz Bang Bar

Salt and Straw’s soft serve baby inside of Pine Street Market (hip cafeteria paradise). The shell is magical.

Food:

  • Grassa

Literally the best Italian food ever. Hand-made pasta is SO GOOD!

  • Pine State Biscuits

Because apple butter. YUMMM. I got the Chatsfield and it was so so so good. Seriously, the bacon was the best I ever had.

Scenery:

  • Multnomah Falls and the Columbia Gorge

Because.. #PNW. I couldn’t stop being in awe of how different it was from the nature of California. So much green. Am I outdoorsy yet? 🙂

  • Departure Bar

That view though. I would definitely recommend coming on the weekend as they don’t normally open up the balcony during the week.

Ready for my next trip already…

Xoxo,

-Lena
